Rose Petal Place doll line was produced by Kenner in 1984. It consisted of six dolls, the villianous spider, several playsets, a fashion line for the dolls, a book series, and two T.V. Specials.
On a personal note, Rose Petal Place were among the first books I checked out from the school library. I was unaware of the T.V. Specials or dolls. However, I loved the books and checked them out multiple times.

Sweet Scents was a doll-line from 1990's by the company Toys n' Things. They are considered to be a knock-off of Strawberry Shortcake dolls and are similar enough to often be confused with Strawberry Shortcake.
